Marjorie Sommer is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has expertise in a full range of issues including anxiety, depression, marital discord, domestic abuse, adjustment disorders and bipolar disorder.

A graduate of Rutgers University School of Social Work,  she has experience working as a therapist in a private clinical as well agency setting.  She is a firm believer in a collaborative approach between therapist and client, and feels that a trusting relationship is the first and necessary step to the therapeutic process.  She has an empathetic approach that helps clients view their difficulties with dignity and compassion.

Marjorie works with the client to relieve pain and suffering that can be all-consuming.  She uses interactive, solution-focused therapies that enable clients to move forward with relative ease.

She is acutely aware of the mental health crisis Covid has created in our country. When she was recently interviewed for Bergen magazine (May, 2022), she pointed out that although all age groups have been affected, school age children have more strongly felt and continue to feel the impact of the pandemic. In her Ramsey practice, she has seen the toll it has taken due to the reshuffling of social groups, isolation, and renewed academic pressure. It is likely these effects will linger for a very long time.

Marjorie invites you to call for a free-consultation at (201) 290-1957.

Marjorie has helped me through the tough times and has been a major factor in helping me achieve my goals in life. Marjorie can inspire anyone to care for themselves.
